STATES OF BEING 

States of Being is an installation work celebrating the North Carolina fiber economy. 

 

This work was created with fibers provided from the The Piedmont Fibershed. 

 

This tapestry-inspired piece is made from handmade hemp fiber paper and North Carolina Earth pigment paint, with earth oxides harvested from the farm where the fibers were grown. The paper is cut and arranged in a modern take on the historic quilt square, the North Carolina star. 

 

This work was featured in the group exhibition, One Acre Exchange (20219). at the Carrick Gallery in Durham, North Carolina.
