'Signs of Life' questions the role of living things in art and design and imagines cellular growth and living processes in extraterrestrial environments using fungi and mycelium.

This collection of microscopic images, video and digital prints explores fungal growth as a platform to question the most fundamental biotic processes and imagine their importance and possibility outside planet earth. These images capture fungal life and growth magnified, enhanced and elevated.

 

In addition to the visual body of work, this project culminates in a creative research paper presented at the 68th International Astronautical Conference in Adelaide Australia, 2017.
